Abstract

ABSTRAK Anisa Rahmatati Jasril, 2018. Pengaruh Strategy Plus Minus Interesting terhadap Kemampuan Menulis Siswa dalam Text diskusi di kelas XII MAN Padusunan Pariaman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan apakah siswa yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan strategi Plus Minus Interesting memiliki keterampilan menulis yang lebih baik pada Text Diskusi dari pada siswa yang tidak diajarkan dengan strategi Plus Minus Interesting di kelas XII MAN Padusunan Pariaman. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XII MAN Padusunan Pariaman yang terdiri dari 133 siswa dan dibagi kedalam 5 kelas. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan sample acak (random sampling). Kemudian peneliti mengambil kelas XII IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang terdiri dari 24 siswa dan kelas XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas pembanding (kontrol) yang terdiri dari 25 siswa. Dalam mengumpulkan data peneliti menggunakan tes tertulis. Tes diberikan sesudah diperlakukan treatment selama lima kali pertemuan untuk melihat perbedaan penggunaan strategi Plus Minus Interesting. Hasil data dianalisa dengan menggunakan prosedur statistik, Hasil penelitian menunjukan thitung (5.658) lebih besar daripada ttabel (1.676). Selain itu, nilai rata-rata post-test siswa di kelas eksperimen (78) lebih tinggi daripada nilai rata-rata post-test siswa di kelas pembanding (68.96). Apalagi setiap komponen penulisan kedua kelas berbeda. Secara statistik, terbukti bahwa pengajaran menulis dengan menggunakan strategi Plus Minus Interesting memberikan perbedaan yang signifikan pada kemampuan menulis siswa. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa strategi Plus Minus Intersting membuat kemampuan menulis siswa menjadi lebih baik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengggunaan Strategi Plus Minus Interesting memberikan pengaruh yang lebih baik dalam menulis siswa dibandingkan dengan tanpa menggunakannya terutama dalam lima komponen menulis. Jadi, strategi ini dapat direkomendasikan untuk membantu siswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan menulis mereka. ABSTRACT Anisa Rahmatati Jasril, 2018. The Effect of Plus Minus Interesting Strategy towards Students’ Writing Skill in Discussion Text at Class XII State Islamic Senior High School Padusunan Pariaman The purpose of this research was to prove whether or not the students who were taught by Plus Minus Interesting Strategy had better writing skill in discussion text than who were taught without using Plus Minus Interesting Strategy at class XII of State Islamic Senior High School Padusunan Pariaman. This research was experimental research. The population is all of the students at class XII of State Islamic Senior High School Padusunan pariaman that consists of 133 students who were divided into five classes. Samples were chosen by using random sampling technique. Next, XII IPA 1 was chosen as the experiment class that consist of 24 students and XII IPA 2 as control class that consist of 25 students. In collecting the data, researcher used written test. The test was given to both classes with the same topic. Then, post-test was given after doing treatments for five meetings to determine the differences of using Plus Minus Interesting Strategy. The data were analyzed by using statistical procedures. The data showed that t-calculate (5.658) was also bigger than t-table (1.676). While, mean scores of students’ writing in experiment class (78) was higher than the mean score of students’ writing in control class (68.96). Moreover, each components of writing both of classes were different. Statistically, it was proved that teaching writing by using Plus Minus Interesting Strategy gave significant difference on students’ writing skill. Therefore, it can be concluded that Plus Minus Interesting Strategy made the students to write better. It is concluded that the effect of Plus Minus Interesting Strategy made students’ writing had better than without used this especially in considering five component of writing. So, this strategy can be recomended to help students to improve their writing skill.
