Abstract

Salde Ofera: Penerapan Model Problem Based Learning (PBL) Ditinjau Dari Aktivitas dan Kemampuan Pemahaman Konsep Matematika Siswa Kelas IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya aktivitas belajar siswa dan rendahnya kemampuan pemahamanan konsep matematika siswa kelas IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan, terlihat dari hasil belajar siswa yang belum mencapai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) yang ditetapkan sekolah yaitu 70. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan model Problem Based Learning (PBL). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) Megetahui aktivitas belajar siswa kelas IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan yang diajar dengan menggunakan model PBL. 2) Mengetahui pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan dengan menggunakan model PBL lebih tinggi dibandingkan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang di ajarkan tanpa menggunakan model pembelajaran PBL. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimen semu dengan rancangan penelitian Randomized Control Grup Only Design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan yang terdiri dari 2 kelas. Setelah dilakukan pemilihan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik Total Sampling maka terpilih kelas IX.1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas IX.2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas dan tes akhir. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, lembar observasi aktivitas menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas siswa mengalami perkembangan dari pertemuan pertama sampai pertemuan kelima dapat dilihat dari hasil rata-rata presentase aktivitas kelas eksperimen selama proses pembelajaran sebagai berikut : 36%, 45%, 59%, 68%, dan 82%. Berdasarkan tes akhir kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa kelas ekperimen lebih tinggi diari kelas kontrol. Hal ini terlihat dari rata-rata tes pemahaman konsep matematika kelas eksperimen yaitu 75,00 sedangkan rata-rata kelas kontrol yaitu 70,90. Setelah dilakukan pengujian hipotesis dengan menggunakan Uji-t diperoleh thitung = 3,298 dan ttabel = 1,645 dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%, sehingga thitung > ttabel, ini menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis yang diajukan diterima. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa aktivitas siswa mengalami peningkatan dan pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang menerapkan model pembelajaran PBL lebih tinggi dari pada pemahaman konsep siswa yang di ajarkan tanpa menggunakan model pembelajara Problem based Learning (PBL) . ii ABSTRACT Salde Ofera: Application of Problem Based Learning Model (PBL) Viewed From Activities and Ability of Understanding of Mathematics Concept of Student of Class IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan This research is motivated by the lack of student learning activity and the low ability of mathematics concept conception of class IX students of SMPN 16 Solok Selatan, seen from the result of student learning that has not reached Minimum Criterion of Minimum School determined 70. One way that can be done to overcome the problem is to apply Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This study aims to: 1) Megetahui student learning activities class IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan who was taught using the PBL model. 2) Knowing the understanding of mathematics concepts of students of class IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan by using PBL model is higher than the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who teach without using PBL learning model. This research included quasi experimental research with Randomized Control Group Design Only design. The population of this study is all students of class IX SMPN 16 Solok Selatan consisting of 2 classes. After selecting the sample is done by technique Total Sampling then selected class IX.1 as experiment class and class IX.2 as control class. The instrument used is activity observation sheet and final test. Based on the results of the research, activity observation sheets show that student activity progress from first meeting until fifth meeting can be seen from result of average percentage of experiment class activity during learning process as follows: 36%, 45%, 59%, 68%, and 82 %. Based on the final test of the students' understanding of the concept of mathematics experimental class higher dance control class. It can be seen from the average of comprehension test of experimental mathematics concept of experimental class that is 75,00 while the control class average is 70,90. After hypothesis testing by using t-test obtained tcount = 3.298 and ttabel = 1.645 with 95% confidence level, so thitung> ttable, this shows that the hypothesis proposed accepted. So, it can be concluded that students' activities have increased and understanding of mathematical concepts of students applying PBL learning model is higher than the understanding of student concepts that are taught without using Problem-Based Learning (PBL) learning model.
