Abstract

This aims to examine the effects of using the Poro English application towards Students Pronunciation mastery at Tenth Grade of SMAN 1 Pariaman. The study employed a quantitative quasi-experimental design, involving two groups: an experimental group. The experimental group, consisting of 25 students from class X E6, was taught using Poro English application, while the control group, composed of 25 students from class X E7, was taught using conventional methods. The instrument used was pronunciation test, and data analysis was conducted using a t-test. The post-test result revealed a significant difference between the two groups. The experimental group had an average score of 3.09, while the control group had an average score of 2.58. the t-test yielded a p-value (2 tailed) of 0.001, which is smaller than significance level of 0.05. this indicates that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. Consequently, it is concluded hat the Use of Poro English application is effective towards students’ pronunciation mastery at tenth grade of SMAN 1 Pariaman, and this application provides a clear advantage over conventional media. These findings underscore that the Poro English application can function as a supplementary or primary tool that effectively for students’ pronunciation mastery among students.
