Abstract

In learning English, a learner is expected to master the four basic language skills, that arelistening, speaking, reading and writing.Writing is a good way to develop English ability. As a good teacher, there are many efforts that should be done to create an effective teaching and learning process. The teacher should has interesting technique to make children motivate to learn English. The purpose of this study is determine whether there is any significant differences on students’ writing skill and recount text between students who are taught by using Group Grid Technique and those are taught without using Group Grid Technique. This research was an experimental research. The population of this study was all of the students at class VIII-1, VIII-2, VIII-3, VIII,4, VII,5, of Junior High School 1 Bayang that consist 103 students who were five classes. The researcher took class VIII-1 VIII-2 as the sample. Where class VIII-1 as the experiment class that consist of 21 students and VIII-2 as the control class that consist of 21. In collecting the data, researcher used written test. The test was given to both classes with the same topic. Then the pos test was given doing after treatment for four meeting to determine the effect of using Group Grid Technique. This research was analyzedbyusingstatisticalprocedure.T wasusedtoanalyzestudentsscore test The result of this research showed that mean scores of students’ writing in experiment class (77,55) is higher that the mean score of students’ writing in control class (67,1). While, T calculate (2,5) is also higher than T (1,306). Moreover, each component of writing both of classes different. It can be seen from the comparison of students’ mean score of posttest. Statistically, it is showed that teaching writing by using Group Grid Technique give significant difference on students’ writing skill. Can be seeing from differences between all component of writing test, especially in content got score (21,55), language use (17, 95) . content got higher score among five component. It is concluded Group Grid Technique is one of English teaching to solve the students problem on writing skill. And this technique can be improve students skill. They get difficulties in ordering ideas into coherent. The Researcher recommend the Group Grid Technique as alternatife in teaching and learning process especially in writingskill.
