Abstract
The 2013 curriculum required that it can apply the scientific approach and integrate character education in the learning process in the classroom. Teachers had tried to apply the scientific approach in the learning process of mathematics, but the scientific approach was still not optimal, one of the causes was the inadequate allocation of time. In addition, teachers only gave character education orally through advice during certain conditions. One of the things that can help teachers in carrying out the learning process with the scientific approach was teaching material. In schools often only rely on textbooks as a source of learning and students also suggested that it was difficult to understand the textbooks and consider the textbooks less attractive. With the limitations of the teaching materials, students hoped for additional teaching materials that were easy to understand, interesting, and not boring. One solution to the problems above was to develop LKPD with a scientific approach nuanced character education as a companion teaching material for textbooks. The virtue of this LKPD was that LKPD was arranged with the scientific approach stage and there was character education based on Islamic values, it was hoped that it would be more embedded into students. Based on this case, research on LKPD development was conducted with a scientific approach nuanced the character education. This study aimed to 1) produce LKPD with a scientific approach nuanced character education that met valid criteria and 2) produce LKPD with a scientific approach nuanced character education that met practical criteria. This research was a development research with the Plomp model. The Plomp model consists of 3 phases, namely preliminary research, development or prototyping phase, and assessment phase. In this development research was limited to the stages of preliminary research and development or prototyping phase. The preliminary research phase consisted of: a) content structure analysis b) concept analysis and c) student analysis. The development phase or prototyping phase consisted of: a) prototype 1 (validity test) b) prototype 2 (practicality test with one-to-one evaluation) and c) prototype 3 (practicality test with small group evaluation). The results of this study indicated that based on the validator's assessment, the developed LKPD got an average score of 90.61%. This score was included in the very valid criteria with an average of 89.02% from the material aspect, 88.82% from the construction aspect and 94% from the aspect of language. Based on the LKPD practicality test conducted by teachers and students shows that the revised LKPD got an average score of 85.53% this score was included in the very practical criteria with an average of 89.12% by teachers and 81.93% by learners. i
