Abstract

This study aims to investigate students’ perceptions of using digital media in learning English at MTs Quranic Scientia. The research employed a qualitative approach with thematic analysis. The participants of this study were eighth-grade students, and all students in one class were involved as respondents. The data were collected through open-ended questionnaires to explore students’ views, feelings, and learning experiences related to the use of digital media in English classes. The findings of the study reveal that students generally have positive perceptions of digital media in English learning. From a cognitive aspect, students believe that digital media helps them understand English materials more easily through visual and audio support. From an affective aspect, students feel more interested, motivated, and less bored when digital media is used during the learning process. From a behavioral aspect, students show active involvement in using digital media both at school and at home, although some technical challenges were also reported. In conclusion, the use of digital media is perceived positively by students and plays an important role in supporting English learning. Therefore, digital media can be considered an effective tool to enhance students’ understanding, motivation, and learning engagement in English classes.
