Abstract

The purpose of this thesis is to find out whether YouTube media in class VI A SDN17 Koto Baru significantly differentiates the listening skills of students in class VI A and VI B. The purpose of this project is to use YouTube media to educate people how to describe animals. The purpose of this project is to use YouTube media to educate people how to describe animals. The research design was quasi experimental and the methodology was quantitative. This sample totalled forty students. Random sampling was used to select the experimental and control classes, class VI A as the experimental class and class VI B as the control class. Researchers only use one test, namely the post test, the researcher treats 4 meetings and one tets, namely the post test, each class is given the same treatment in the control class 4 times treatment and one test and the experimental class also gets the same treatment as the experimental class four times treatment and one test. The results of data analysis using SPSS 20 show that the post-test score in class VI A (100) is greater than the post-test score of class VI B (80), which identifies that YouTube media has a big influence on students' listening skills. The hypotensis test has a significant 2-tailed result of 0.000 <0.05. Thus it can be said that H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. Further analysis of the word maintains that listening, vocabulary, comprehension are the main indicators to show the power of YouTube media especially when listening to people. It can be concluded that YouTube media in listening learning can help students improve their listening skills. Keywords: YouTube, Teaching, Listening.
