Abstract

This research aims to identify the digital media used by teachers in English language teaching and how teachers strategize in using digital media. This re-search was conducted at MAN 1 Padang. The subject of this research is an Eng-lish teacher at MAN 1 Padang who teaches at two levels, X and XI grades. The research method used is qualitative research with a case study approach. Data col-lection was carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and trian-gulation. The data obtained were analyzed through three stages: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The research findings indicate that English teachers use two main types of digital media in their teaching: (1) Youtube videos, which are used at the beginning of lessons as a strategy to en-hance students' listening skills, and (2) Power Point, which is used as a strategy to deliver content and to practice reading and speaking skills through sentences dis-played in the presentation. In conclusion, the use of digital media supports a more interactive learning process and makes learning more acceptable to students.
