Abstract

This study aims to map, analyze, and redesign the business processes of thesis administration at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Imam Bonjol Padang. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with the Business Process Management stages of Process Identification, Process Discovery, Process Analysis, and Process Redesign. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results identified five main stages of the thesis administration process. Process Analysis identified two main problems: topic consultation in the Information Systems Study Program is still conducted separately with several lecturers, and thesis supervision requests are not systematically recorded. Process Redesign produced a To-Be process consisting of a scientific-field-based consultation forum and the recording, notification, status tracking, monitoring, and follow-up of supervision requests using the Integral Technology heuristic. The To-Be design was validated and serves as a proposed improvement to the thesis administration process.
