Abstract
The Implementation of whatsapp In Teaching english During Pandemic Covid-19 In MAN 3 West Pasaman During Pandemic Covid-19, distance learning platforms are a solution to keep teaching English. The whatsapp application is the right choice for MAN 3 West Pasaman teachers to deliver learning materials online. This study aims to describe Teaching English by using a whatsapp application at MAN 3 West Pasaman related to the planning carried out by the teacher in distance learning. The approach in this study uses a qualitative approach with a qualitative descriptive type of research. The data collection techniques using interviews, and documentation. Based on the results of research and discussion on distance learning held at MAN 3 West Pasaman shows that teacher carry out online teaching by using a WhatsApp application, teachers do planning by preparing lesson plans and textbooks, teachers also map materials and prepare learning supports such as teaching media and student worksheets. Based on the teaching process, the teacher sends material on a whatsapp application using videos and materials that have been written. When the teacher sends a video explaining the material to the teacher, the students instruct the students to listen to the video. Video delivery can make it easier for students to understand the subject matter being studied because it can be repeated if there is material that has not been understood. In addition to using videos, the teacher also explains the material with a written summary. For students who do not understand the explanation through video, they can read the summary written by the teacher. From the results of this study, it was concluded that the implementation of a whatsapp as a learning medium at MAN 3 West Pasaman was good because it could be a transmitter of knowledge from teachers to students.
