Abstract

Analysis of Teacher’s Techniques in Teaching Speaking at Four Grade at Tamiang Ujung Gading Pasaman Barat Teaching English at the elementary school level is to motivate and introduce English. based on this purpose is the current study tried to describe teacher’s techniques in teaching speaking and to identify the reasons why the teacher used the techniques in teaching speaking at four grade of Muhammdiyah Islamic Elementary School at Tamiang. The subjects of this study were English teacher and fourth grade students. The design in this research is descriptive qualitative which is to obtain data through observation, interviews and documentation. The result should that the teacher used repetition drill techniques in teaching speaking, Teacher used the techniques because character of young learner are still happy with new things and also students very limited vocabulary, students are still in the process of being introduced to english, so teacher tinks used the repetition drill techniques to four grade more effective. Repetition drill technique is used by the teacher in teaching speaking and students repeat the text that has been spoken by the teacher. Whit this practice students vocabulary will also increase and pronounciation were better. It can concluded that repetition drill techniques are appropiate to develop the students spoken English. Therefore teachers in the another location are advised to used repetition drill techniques in teacing speaking.
