Abstract

Community welfare in West Sumatra Province exhibits significant regional disparities, necessitating a multidimensional analytical approach capable of mapping geographical interdependencies to support equitable development. This study aims to analyze the spatial autocorrelation patterns of community welfare using Global Moran’s I and Local Indicators of Spatial Association (LISA), complemented by WebGIS-based visualization. Adopting a quantitative approach within the Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD) framework, the research utilizes 2024 secondary data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), covering eight welfare dimensions across 19 regencies and cities. Using k-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) spatial weighting, the Global Moran’s I analysis reveals distinct spatial variations: Education and Employment indicators exhibit clustered patterns, signifying the agglomeration of growth centers. Conversely, the composite Community Welfare Index (IKM), Poverty, and Consumption indicators show dispersed patterns, indicating spatial inequality. Health, Housing, and Social Aspect indicators demonstrate a random distribution. The LISA analysis identifies Agam Regency, Payakumbuh, and Sawahlunto as High-High clusters, while Padang and Bukittinggi tend to function as "welfare pockets" that have yet to provide optimal spillover effects to their surrounding buffer zones. This study concludes that development strategies in West Sumatra cannot be uniform; furthermore, the WebGIS system provides transparent spatial data visualization to support evidence-based policy formulation and precision regional development.
