Abstract
This study aims to evaluate the quality of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) of the Byond by Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) application based on aspects of comfort, ease of use, and interface clarity. The evaluation was conducted using a combined approach of the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) and HEART Framework to obtain a comprehensive understanding, covering both users' subjective perceptions and actual usage behavior. The research population consisted of Byond by BSI application users in Padang City, with a sample of 123 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through an online questionnaire adapted from the standard UEQ instrument and HEART indicators, then analyzed statistically using validity tests, reliability tests, and descriptive analysis. The results of the UEQ analysis indicate that the user experience quality of the Byond by BSI application is rated "Poor" across all dimensions, with detailed scores as follows: Attractiveness 0.03; Perspicuity 0.04; Efficiency 0.00; Dependability 0.01; Stimulation 0.07; and Novelty -0.12. These findings confirm that users perceive the application as having an unintuitive interface, confusing navigation, and being uninnovative and visually unappealing. Meanwhile, the HEART Framework analysis shows that the application's performance falls into the "Moderate" category across all dimensions with average scores: Happiness 3.16; Engagement 2.99; Adoption 3.09; Retention 2.96; and Task Success 3.11, with an overall average of 3.06. These findings indicate that although the application remains functional for completing basic banking tasks, users do not experience emotional attachment, exhibit fragile loyalty, and demonstrate low engagement. This study recommends urgent and comprehensive improvements in interface design and user flow, focusing on enhancing clarity, efficiency, security, and visual appeal to make the application more responsive to user needs and competitive in the digital banking era. The combined UEQ and HEART approach proves effective in providing a comprehensive diagnosis that bridges user perceptions and behaviors.
