Abstract

This study aims to determine students' vocabulary mastery in English learning at MAN Kota Pariaman. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation and interviews. The subjects of this study were students of grades X, XI, and XII who were selected using purposive sampling. The research findings revealed that students' vocabulary mastery differed in understanding vocabulary, the learning methods used by MAN Kota Pariaman students also varied, the level of difficulty in understanding vocabulary differed, there were various learning resources in understanding vocabulary, and there was different vocabulary teaching in schools.
