Abstract
This study aimed to find out the effectiveness of using mentimeter media towards students’ reading comprehension in procedure text at the tenth grade of MAN 2 Pesisir Selatan. This research was quantitative research with quasi experimental research method. The researcher chose two classes as samples, 34 students in experimental class and 34 students in control class. To collect data, researcher used a test as a pre-test and post-test instrument. From the result of analyzing the data, it was found that (2-tailed) significant less than 0.05. It explains that there is a significant difference in scores for the experimental class, with an increase in score of 672, while the control class increase was 32. It can be concluded that mentimeter media is effectively used to teach reading comprehension. It was indicated that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, but the null hypothesis (H0) was rejected. From the statistical data results that have been found, it can be concluded that this study accepted ha which means mentimeter media was effective towards students’ reading comprehension ability at the tenth grade of MAN 2 Pesisir Selatan.
