Abstract
The student attendance process at SMA Negeri 8 Bengkulu Selatan is still conducted manually, requiring considerable time, creating a risk of recording errors, and making attendance data management difficult. This study aims to design and develop a web-based student attendance information system using QR Code to support more effective and structured attendance recording and management. The study employs the Research and Development (R&D) method with the Waterfall development model, consisting of analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment. The developed system provides student, teacher, class, and schedule management, QR Code and manual attendance, attendance recapitulation, and attendance reports. The system is used by administrators, teachers, and homeroom teachers according to their respective access rights. Testing was conducted using Black BoxTesting, Load Testing with Apache JMeter, and the System Usability Scale (SUS). The Black BoxTesting results showed that all system functions operated according to the requirements. Load Testing under the highest load of 9 classes with 279 requests resulted in an average response time of 1.229 ms, throughput of 2.9 requests per second, and an error rate of 0.00%. Usability testing resulted in a SUS score of 88,5, which falls into the Excellent category and Grade A. Based on these results, the developed system can help accelerate the attendance process, facilitate attendance data management and monitoring, and provide ease of use for Users at SMA Negeri 8 Bengkulu Selatan.
