Abstract
Transportation within the campus environment plays an important role in supporting the mobility of UIN academic students and employees. Imam Bonjol State Islamic University (UIN) Padang provides campus bus services as the main transportation facility. However, the operational system of the campus bus at Imam Bonjol State Islamic University Padang still has obstacles in delivering information on departure schedules and tracking the location of buses and passengers in real time. Currently, information is only distributed through WhatsApp groups, which do not cover all users, causing uncertainty in knowing the schedule and position of the bus. This study aims to design and build an Android-based Mobile Tracking Bus application that can display departure schedules and track the location of campus buses and passengers in real time using GPS. The research method used is a combination of Research and Development (R&D) and Prototype system development methods. This application is equipped with main features such as realtime tracking of bus and passenger locations using GPS and displaying departure schedules. The results of the study show that the application developed is able to provide information that can be accessed by all users. With this system, it is expected to help in providing information to users to find out the departure schedule and position of the bus directly, thereby increasing the efficiency of campus transportation.
