Abstract

This study aimed to find the effect of Baamboozle Platform on the mastery of grammar of 8th grade students of SMPN 4 Batang Anai. This research was quantitative research with true-experimental research design. The population of this study were all 8th grade students of SMPN 4 Batang Anai in the 2024/2025 school year. The researcher chose two classes as samples. Sampling in this study is by stratified random sampling technique, by taking samples based on students' previous educational background then researchers grouped them into two classes, namely a class with 25 students as an experimental class and a class with 25 students as a control class. To collect data, researchers used a test as a post-test instrument. The data analysis technique used was the t-test with a significance level of 5%. Before data analysis, pre-requisite tests were carried out in the form of normality test and homogeneity test. The test was carried out with the help of the SPSS 25 computer program. The test results showed that the posttest data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The result of this study is the posttest score shows that there was a significant difference between the two classes. For the experimental class, a value of 88.00 was obtained and for the control class it was 78.80. The t-test data analysis for the posttest scores of the experimental group and the control group, obtained a t value of 4.038 and ρ of 0.000 (ρ < 0.05). The average gain score was 9.20. This means that in the post-test session, the experimental class scored higher than the control class. The post-test was conducted after students in each class received treatment from the researcher, the experimental class was taught with the Baamboozle platform and the control class used conventional media in the form of pictures. From the statistical data results that have been found, it can be concluded that this study accepted ha which means there was a significant effect of using baamboozle platform toward students' mastery of grammar at class 8 of SMPN 4 Batang Anai.
