Abstract

In Indonesia, information technology literacy is rapidly developing, supporting business and work efficiency. One example is that students can carry out academic activities with the help of the internet. Boarding houses (indekos) also serve as a solution for students who live far from home. Around UIN Imam Bonjol Padang Campus 3 in Sungai Bangek Village, many indekos still use conventional management. Indekos owners find it difficult to promote and manage their boarding houses, while indekos renters face challenges in obtaining clear and complete information about the boarding houses. This system is designed to facilitate room management, rental transaction management, room search and rental, and indekos report management. The system users consist of three main actors: users (renters), indekos owners, and admins. Users can register, log in, search for indekos rooms, rent rooms, make rental transactions, and view transaction history. Indekos owners can manage indekos rooms, manage rental transactions, and manage transaction reports. Admins are responsible for overall system management, including user and indekos owner data management. The system is designed using the waterfall system development method and R&D research type with a quantitative approach. The system design includes various UML diagrams, as well as interface designs implemented using HTML, CSS, PHP, and JavaScript. System testing is carried out using the black-box testing method to ensure optimal performance. The research results show that this system is effective in helping renters find indekos rooms that suit their preferences and assist indekos owners in promoting and managing their boarding houses. This system is expected to provide significant contributions to the management of boarding houses, particularly in Sungai Bangek Village.
