Abstract
Speaking is one of language skills that is also included in the importance of education which is characterized as a productive skill and helps listeners get ideas, ideas, information, experience and knowledge. Class VII students at SMP N 30 Kota Padang in Speaking skills affect the continuity of communication, without speaking skills can cause difficulties for students to interpret the communication that takes place. At the time of communication in English, both from the point of view of the speaker and the listener. To avoid the occurrence of problems that can occur, it is necessary what factors and aspects can support fluency during communication which can be called skills in speaking. This study aims to answer the results of the analysis and describe students' speaking skills, how to increase students' interest in speaking skills, and find out what factors and aspects improve students' speech skills in grade VII SMP N 30 Kota Padang in English language learning. The approach method used in this study is qualitative descriptive. In conducting research, researchers use descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques. Data collection is done by Observation, Interview and Documentation. The data taken and collected came from class teachers and grade VII students. Data analysis is carried out through three stages of implementation, namely, data reduction, data presentation, data verification and conclusion. Checking the validity of the data used includes, extending the time involved in the research process, increasing persistence, triangulation and case analysis. The results of the analysis of research on students' speaking skills include aspects of Pronunciation, Action, Comprehension, Vocabulary and Expression. The results of the analysis for the development of students' talent interests at SMPN 30 Padang using English game strategies and vocabulary mastery. Factors and aspects that affect students' speaking ability consist of 2, namely supporting factors and inhibiting factors. Supporting factors are Motivation, Self-Confidence, Social Mental and Habits. While the inhibiting factors are Home, school and peer environment, Linguistics. The inhibiting factor is the confidence and mental readiness of students. With good motivation, it will give its own courage to students when speaking in English in class.
