Abstract

The research began with the problem of students get difficulties in writingfocus on content, word organization, using all the words used in a language vocabulary, both vocabulary and grammar are needed to be able to compose effective and efficient english sentences and a mechanic is typically certified by a trade association or regional government power. Mechanics may be separated into two classes based on the type of machines they work on, heavyweight and lightweight. Heavyweight work is on larger machines or heavy equipment, such as tractors and trailers, while lightweight work is on smaller items, such as automotive engines. .They got difficulties how to write the text, sentence. especially in writing recount text , at junior high school 1 sungai beremas. the study used quantitative method with quasi experimental design. sample was 50 students which classified into two classes, experimental and control class. the primary instruments of this study were writing test. the test was devided into two test, pre-test and post- tes. the data from both test were analyzed by using t- test in spss. data from this research were obtained by using diary writing. the researcher gave preliminary test to identification the student’s basic abilities and to find out the student’s grades in writing the recount text at the first meeting before being given treatment. after completing the treatment for four times the first the students were again given a writing test. after completing the writing test in the first cycle and knowing the result, continued to give treatment for two times in the second cycle the students were again given a final test to find out whether the influence of the diary writing strategy increased the student’s writing ability. the experimental class got 88.28 while controlled class got 77.28. it can be said the accepted. so, it can be proved that the using diary writing strategy was effective on student’s writing ability on teaching instructional text of eight grade at Smpn 1 Sungai beremas.
