Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of active students in the process of learning mathematics so that student learning outcomes are less satisfactory. One of the reasons is that the teaching materials used are still monotonous so that students are less interested in learning. Based on the results of interviews with students, the learning process tends to be one-way and does not involve students in the learning process. To overcome this, it is necessary to design and develop mathematics learning tools, one of which is teaching materials in the form of Problem Based Learning-based mathematics e-modules. E-modules are designed as attractive as possible to increase interest in learning and are equipped with videos to strengthen students' knowledge. Problem Based Learning-based emodules make students active in the learning process. Students are given teaching materials in the form of e-modules, then divided into several groups. Students are asked to find their own mathematical concepts from existing problems, so that students can develop their critical thinking skills and problem solving skills. Therefore, the researcher developed an e-mathematical module based on Problem Based Learning. This study aims to 1) Produce Problem Based Learning-based mathematics e-modules that meet valid criteria, 2) Produce Problem Based Learning-based mathematics e-modules that meet practical criteria. The research is development research with a 4-D model proposed by S. Thiagarajan of development, namely define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research is only up to define, design, and develop stages. The define stage consists, of: a) early-late analysis, b) student analysis, c) concept analysis, d) task analysis, e) formulation of learning objectives. The design stage consists of: designing learning media, designing instruments and validating learning device instruments. The develop stage consists of: a) validity stage, b) practicality stage. The results showed that based on the assessment of 5 validators, the media developed got an average score of 89.31 with very valid criteria. Based on the practicality test of the media conducted by 2 educators and 6 students, it showed that the revised media got an average score of 88.78%, this score was included in the very practical criteria. So it can be concluded that the e-module based on Problem Based Learning mathematics class X MAN 1 Pesisir Selatan is very valid and very practical to use as a mathematics learning tool.
