Abstract

Reading Comprehension Assessment in English Textbook “Stop Bullying Now” for Eleventh-grade Students of Senior High School This research aimed to find out type of reading comprehension assessment that mostly found in the English textbook "Stop Bullying Now" for eleventh-grade students of Senior High School. This research applied qualitative. The data were collected from the English students’ Textbook Stop Bullying Now" for Eleventh-grade Students of Senior High School published by Kemendikbud 2017. Reading assessments in textbooks were classified based on the type of reading assessment by H. Douglas Brown's theory. The data were taken from sources and entered into a checklist table to make the number of reading assessments in the textbook. The result of this study showed that the total reading assessment found in this textbook was 16 times of those reading assessments. There were 5 for selective reading with percentage 31,25%, 8 for interactive reading with percentage 50%, 3 for extensive reading with percentage 18,75%, and for perceptive reading was not found. The interactive reading was dominantly found in the assessment. It can be concluded that the reading assessments in the English textbook “Stop Bullying Now” related to learning activity based on syllabus. It means that the composition is in accordance with the curriculum 2013.
