Abstract
The Effect Of The Guided Conversation Technique In Learning Speaking Skill In Seventh Grade At Nurul Huda Bangai Islamic Boarding School, written by Muhammad Arif Hasibuan NIM. 1814050077 Department of English Tadris at the Islamic State University (UIN) Imam Bonjol Padang. The background of writing this thesis is the lack of students' ability in the application of speaking English at the Nurul Huda Bangai Islamic Boarding School. With this background, the author wishes to apply a technique that is considered effective by the author in learning English, namely the guided conversation technique. Limitations in this study, namely. 1. Analyze the effectiveness of the guided conversation method to increase students' speaking skills at nurul huda bangai Islamic boarding school. 2. Through this method, students will be interested in learning speaking skills at Nurul Huda Bangai Islamic boarding School. The type of research used in this research is quantitative research using the Quasi Experiment or quasi-experimental method, with a research design of Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were all 7th grade students of the Nurul Huda Bangai Islamic Boarding School. Sampling in this study is to use a total sampling technique. The sample in this study was the 7th grade students of the Nurul Huda Bangai Islamic Boarding School, amounting to 55 students. The results showed that the average final test score for speaking English in class 7 at the Nurul Huda Bangai Islamic boarding school increased, this can be seen in the average final test score for the experimental class of 74.84 and the average final test score for speaking English. English Santri in the control class 68.30. Based on the hypothesis test or t test with SPSS Version 20 obtained sig (2-tailed) of = 0.000, it can be concluded that (0.000 <0.05). Therefore, it can be said that o which reads that there is no difference between rejected and a is accepted, meaning that there is a significant level of effectiveness in the use of the guided xi conversation technique on the English speaking ability of 7th grade students of the Nurul Huda Bangai Islamic Boarding School. Thus, it can be concluded that the guided conversation technique is effectively used in teaching speaking in grade 7 Islamic Boarding School Nurul Huda Bangai.
