Abstract

Tools Used in Teaching English at the Seventh Grade MTsN 1 of Padang Pariaman. Thesis. English Tadris Department. Faculty of Islamic Education and Teacher Training. State Islamic University Imam Bonjol Padang. Teaching media are tools that can be used by the teacher as facilitate in teaching English and the using of tools in teaching learning process is helpful for the teacher to transfer the knowledge to the students. This study aims to determine the tools used in teaching english at the seventh grade MTsN 1 of padang pariaman, and why do the teacher use the tools in teaching English at the seventh grade MTsN 1 of Padang Pariaman. The research method adopted for this research is qualitative descriptive. Participant for this research is the English teacher in the seventh grade of MTsN 1 Padang Pariaman. To collect the data, the reseacher using classroom observation field notes and interview the teacher. The technique of data analysis, the researcher using data condensation, data display and the last conclusion drawing. The finding revealed of this study showed that they are two tools used by the teacher in teaching English, they are flashcard and song. For the reason why the teacher use the tools is duo to use the tools makes the students felt interest to the material, the students felt enjoy and happy while they were learning English. The teacher also said the using of these tools made the students active in the class, hence that it is easy and affordable to students achievement in learning English.
