Abstract

Tourism is a crucial sector for Padang City; however, tourist visits have experienced a decline, partly due to the lack of an integrated and objective information system for recommending tourist destinations. This research focuses on applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method in developing a web-based Decision Support System (DSS) to determine the best tourist attractions in Padang City. The AHP method is utilized as a mathematical model to calculate the priority weights of four main criteria natural beauty, facilities, cleanliness, and safety assessed against 10 leading tourist attraction alternatives. The system development was conducted using the Iterative Waterfall model approach, implemented with the PHP programming language and a MySQL database. The AHP calculation results indicate that the Syekh Ahmad Khatib Al-Minangkabawi Grand Mosque was selected as the best tourist alternative recommendation, achieving the highest final score of 0.93638. System testing using Black Box Testing proved that all system functionalities operate validly according to the design. Furthermore, the User Acceptance Test (UAT) involving tourists resulted in a feasibility percentage of 86.8%, which falls into the excellent category. In conclusion, this web-based decision support system has been successfully implemented and is capable of providing accurate tourist destination recommendations based on tourist preferences, while potentially supporting the realization of the Smart Tourism City program in Padang City.
