Abstract

Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIP-Kuliah) is a government program that aims to provide tuition assistance to economically disadvantaged students. The selection process for KIP-Kuliah scholarship recipients at UIN Imam Bonjol Padang is still done manually, causing various obstacles such as the risk of data input errors, assessment inconsistencies, and long selection times. This research aims to apply the TOPSIS (Technique for Order Performance by Similarity to Ideal Solutions) method into a decision support system and build a system that can recommend KIP-College scholarship recipients. The research was conducted by collecting assessment criteria data which includes Parents' Income, Parents' Employment, Academic Achievement, Number of Dependents, and Non-Academic Achievement. The TOPSIS method is used to process these criteria by calculating alternative data (students) against positive and negative ideal solutions. The results showed that the decision support system with the TOPSIS method was able to provide an effective ranking of prospective scholarship recipients. The system can process multiple criteria by giving different weights to each criterion, resulting in a more comprehensive decision than the manual method. This research proves that the TOPSIS method can be effectively applied in the decision support system for KIP-College scholarship recipients, providing a computerized solution that can assist universities in a fair and accurate selection process.
