Abstract

ABSTRACT Yuni Lila Sulastri (2024):“STUDENTS' PERCEPTION ON THE USE OF TIKTOK AS AN ENGLISH LEARNING MEDIUM AT ENGLISH TADRIS DEPARTMENT ISLAMIC UNIVERSITY IMAM BONJOL PADANG” The aim of this research is to describe the perception of Islamic University students reagarding the use of TikTok application as an English learning medium. The researcher is interested in conducting the study entitled “Student's Perception on the Use Tiktok As English Learning medium at English Tadris Department Islamic State University of Imam Bonjol Padang ” to provide the perception in the context of the TikTok as an English learning medium at Islamic higher education, contributing to our education in the face of technological change and cultural dynamics. The research design about to be used in this study is a qualitative descriptive approach. The researcher collected the data by interviewing informants via voice message using through Whatsapp Application. The results of this research showed that the perception of English students at Islamic higher education of Imam Bonjol Padang showed a positive response. This can be seen from several informants’ opinions agreed that TikTok was very effective when used as a learning media. Keywords: Perception, TikTok, Learning Media
