Abstract
This research is to find out whether using the Duolingo application has a significant effect on students' vocabulary mastery. This research uses quantitative experimental method. This research was conducted on class 7 students at MTsN 2 Pariaman with a total of 52 students, namely class 7.6 as the experimental class and class 7.7 as the control class. Each class consists of 26 students. The Duolingo application is used in the experimental class and in the control class learning through books and the teacher explains the material using presentation methods and with several quizzes. Based on calculations, the average post-test score in the experimental class was 92.69 while in the control class it was 74.3. The results of calculations using the independent sample t-test show that the use of the Duolingo application is effective in improve students' vocabulary mastery in the seventh grade of MTsN 2 Pariaman in the 2023/2024 academic year.
