Abstract

This research aimed to find out whether any effect of using board race games technique towards student’s speaking skill at the eight grade of MTsN 3 Pariaman.The method used is quantitative with quasi experimental design. The population of this research consist of all the eight grade students’ in MTsN 3 Pariaman academic year 2023/2024, consists of 6 classes of 164 students. The sample of this research was 26 students in VIII.3 class as control group and 26 students in VIII.5 class as experiment group. Data were collected through speaking pre-test and post-test. The test was given to both classes with the same topic. Then, post-test was given after doing the treatments for five meetings to know the effect of board race game technique. The calculation of post-test scores resulted there are any effect of applying board race games technique through students’ speaking skill with the value T-obtained 6,212 was bigger than the value of t-table 1,671. The result of Fcount was 51,09> and F-table 2,68 its mean that the hypotesis was accepted.It conclude that there are any effect of board race game technique towards student’s speaking skill at eight grade of MTsN 3 Pariaman.So, board race games technique is recommended to apply by the teacher in learning process to increase the students’ speaking skill.
