Abstract

This research is intended to analyze the most frequently tested components and determine what levels of reading comprehension questions are in the final reading comprehension test in the tenth grade of SMAN 2 Solok. This research is content analysis research, which is also the method used to analyze qualitative data. Data were collected from English teachers at SMAN 2 Solok. The reading test questions found in this final test are 50, which are divided into two question packages, namely package A and package B. The form and type of questions tested are exactly the same; it's just that the placement of the question numbers is arranged randomly. The reading components that are most often tested in the English final test are finding the topic, six questions about finding the main idea, five questions about detailed information, four questions about vocabulary, and six questions about inference. In this research, researchers used document analysis. Based on the analysis carried out by researchers, it was found that there were three levels of reading comprehension questions in the final exam questions, namely, literal, inferential, and critical. But in the final exam questions, the level most often used is literal. Literal is the lowest level between inferential and critical. Meanwhile, in the 2013 curriculum at KD 4.5, it is said that the level required is critical, namely the highest level. This book is not in accordance with the demands of the 2013 curriculum. Therefore, it is hoped that in the future, the book will contain more critical content.
