Abstract

Hilda Hanika, 2021: An Analysis of Teachers’ Perception on Online English Learning during Pandemic Covid-19 at Junior High School 4 Payakumbuh This research was aim to analysis teachers’ perception on online English learning in the Covid-19 Pandemic at SMP 4 Payakumbuh. This was a qualitative research type. Questionnaire and interview sheets were the instruments of this research. Questionnaire and interview techniques were used to collect the data. Respondent of this research were four English teachers at SMP 4 Payakumbuh. The technique of analysis used three steps, namely data reduction, data display, and verification. The findings from the data analysis revealed that the teachers gave positive perception the usefulness and weakness of online learning during pandemic Covid-19. The process of learning English was easier with online learning but online English learning were not able to conduct English teaching process more effective in achieving the learning objectives. Online English learning can foster students’ independent learning attitudes. It is concluded that teacher has positive perception on online learning during pandemic covid-19. It implies that online learning may be continued with more creative teaching techniques through online learning.
