Abstract

Cognitive Domain Analysis on Writing Tasks in English Textbook “Bahasa Inggris” for Senior High School Grade X The aim of this study was to find out the to analyze writing task presented based on Cognitive domain level in the English textbook “Bahasa Inggris” for Senior High School Grade X published by the Minister of Education and Culture based on Anderson’ theory. Qualitative descriptive research type was used to analyze the textbook. Cognitive domain level were the main data and checklist sheet was used as instrument of this research. Reading, identifying, classifying, and analyzing of cognitive domain levels were used to collect the data. The results of this study indicated that there were 13 tasks belong to C1 (remembering), C2 (understanding) gets 11 tasks, and there are 10 tasks belong to C3 (applying). The higher order thinking skill which consists of analyzing, evaluating and creating only get 22 tasks out of 56 tasks in the textbook. There are 7 task belong to C4 (analyzing), while the C5 (evaluating) includes 6 task and C6 (creating) includes 9 task cognitive domain levels found in English textbook “Bahasa Inggris”. Remembering cognitive domain level was mostly presented in the textbook. It is concluded that writing tasks on English textbook “Bahasa Inggris” have Low order thingking level and fulfill the criteria of Anderson’theory.
